Creative Chemistry 101, Day 8

I tried out two more techniques.  This one is with the Acrylic Dabbers it is called the Paint Dabber Resist Technique.



I used Acrylic Paint Dabber in Gold.  I frayed the edges
of the Stickly-Back Canvas.



Spun Sugar and Broken China Distress Stains

I also tried the Shattered Stains Technique with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.  Cool! I used Mixed Minds grungeboard by Tim Holtz Idea-ology.

I used Spun Sugar Distress Stain and Festive Berries Distress Ink.
I had to press the ink pad really hard!

I stamped the sentiment from Shabby French using Iced Spruce Distress Ink.
I also stamped the sentiment in Jet Black Archival Ink.



Creative Chemistry 101, Day 10

Today I worked with distress stickles.  I have had a set of distress stickles for a long time but I didn't know how to use them.  Well, Tim Holtz did a great video on how to use them and now I know how! :)

Creative Chemistry 101 - Day 9

Ok, so not exactly going in order. [blush]  But I've been feeling a little under the weather.  I decided to try out Day 9 since Tim Holtz was featuring Perfect Pearls.  I like sparkle!  I experimented a little by stamping on a dark image using the Distress Ink Pads and Perfect Pearls.  My little experiment worked and the Perfect Pearls let the writing show through in the light. :)

I USED:

- Shabby French Stamp Set, Stampers Anonymous

- Jet Black, Archival Ink by Ranger

- Iced Spruce Distress Ink Pad, Tim Holtz, Ranger

- Festive Berries Distress Ink Pad, Tim Holtz, Ranger

- Brushed Coduroy Distress Ink Pad, Tim Holtz, Ranger

- Blue Smoke Perfect Pearls, Ranger

- Broken China Distress Stain, Tim Holtz, Ranger



I stamped the tag in Jet Black Archival Ink.



Next, I stamped using Distress Ink Pads and
brushed on Blue Smoke Perfect Pearls.



The Perfect Pearls highlights the writing
on the black image!

Creative Chemistry 101, Day 3

It is actually several days past day 3 of the class, but I did not have Archival Ink.  Now I do! :)  This is my tag for the Alcohol Ink Agate Technique.

I did not like it at first.  It looked like a big ole mess to me.  But then I added more layers and the stamp images - Wow!  I think it took on a different look.  It's kind of fun not knowing that what somethin is going to look like exactly.

I used a pop dot on the vellum heart after the Archival Ink dried.



I debossed only a small section of the tag.

Creative Chemistry, Day 2

I am learning a lot in Tim Holtz's Creative Chemistry 101 online class.  I learned about blending colors. BUT one of the most beautiful techniques is the brushless watercolor technique.  So simple but beautiful!  I used a regular tag instead of water color paper so I will try the watercolor paper later and see if they come out differently.

I LOVE this technique because of its soft look.  I will be using it more often.  I liked blending so much I blended colors on my seam binding. :D

Confession Time:  He didn't mention using Perfect Pearls but I couldn't resist adding a little shimmer to the butterflies.  Shhhhh...
