Today I made a tag with a new stamp I just got from Artistic Post. When I saw the set, I fell in love with it and, well, just had to have it. I used the stamp to make a cover of a book. I distressed it so it looked like an old, worn copy of Huckleberry Finn. I even tore off a piece and glued it back together to give it a look of book that so well loved someone took the time to fix it. I used to have a couple like that before I got a Kindle. It has a simple sentiment story, which a double meaning. Story for Huckleberry Finn and story for the little four page "book" I made. A little story can actually be written in it. I entered it in the Simon Says Stamp & Show Challenge: What Do You Say?
I Also Used:
- Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Black Soot, Iced Spruce
-Tim Holtz Adage Ticket - Story
-Tim Holtz Sizzix Texture Fades - Steampunk
-Tim Holtz Kraft Resist Paper
- Stickles - Vintage Photo
- Seam Binding from stash and lightly inked with Black Soot
That really is wonderful - love how distressed and vintage it looks. TFS
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely tag and bookmark. You did a beautiful job of creating a distressed background for that amazing Artistic Outpost Huck Finn stamp. The Huck Finn is amazing. It really does look like a worn copy of the book. Beaautiful job! Thanks for sharing your story and your art with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
ReplyDeletesuch a pretty tag. Love the layers.
ReplyDeleteI love this tag. I am not good at making tags. I always draw a blank when I sit down to make one. Thank you so much for the ideas though. I'll try again. lol
ReplyDeleteFabulous tag, love how you have used the AO images which looks fantastic in these vintage colours. Fabulous layout. Thanks so much for joining in the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. Tracy x

ReplyDeleteLove this! Great use of the Distress Inks. I love that it looks like a bookmark but then you lift up the stamped image and there's more to explore. Fabulous!
